`Time to get home` Feature in Augmented SmartWatch

Use case:

  • In widget mode of Augmented SmartWatch  tap on your smartwatch
  • The estimated time to drive to your preset location will be shown on your watch as depicted below:

Augmented SmartWatch settings provide for two preset locations as shown below – work and home:

The latitude and longitude of the location must be entered for your preset locations:

  • Using maps.google.com
  • Go to your home or work location
  • Right click on that location
  • Select `What`s here`
  • The lat and lon will be shown in the search box area as shown below:

  • Enter the two numbers exactly as shown into the appropriate settings field in the Augmented SmartWatch app
  • Copy exactly as shown in the same order and with no spaces

To use this feature there are two methods:

1) Via Tasker (or 3rd party app) via an intent:

com.alk.k9 and set the sender parameter to `going home`

2) From the Augmented SmartWatch widget – tap on the widget and the time to go home will be shown.

Note if you are already close to home, the app will then provide the estimated time to go to your work location instead.

The Augmented SmartWatch app will also attempt to trigger a Tasker task called saytext that will also say the distance using Text to Speech. This task is described below (exported from Tasker running on a Samsung Galaxy Note):

<class cl=”TaskerData” sr=””>
